Acupressure Fundamentals:
Integrating acupressure into your massage practice offers you a great way to relieve pain, reduce stress, and support health. Learn basic Yin/Yang, Qi, and meridian theory along with hands-on methods to treat common acupressure points. Learn how to incorporate acupressure into any massage session.
Course Objectives

Understand the energetics of Yin and Yang and their manifestations in the human body.

Understand the nature of Qi and how Qi flows through the 12 regular meridians.

Locate, palpate and treat at least 50 commonly used acupressure points.

Be able to effectively integrate acupressure with your massage therapy skills.

Advanced Anatomy and Massage Series:
Learn orthopedic evaluation techniques in order to offer more effective treatments and to communicate more clearly with referring health practitioners such as Chiropractors and Physical Therapists. By combining precise evaluation with an approach of gentleness and curiosity, you will more successfully reduce acute and chronic musculo-skeletal pain.
The intention of each Advanced Anatomy workshop is to allow for an experience of deeper connection between practitioner and client via anatomical detail. Explore the richness of anatomy and orthopedic evaluation in an atmosphere of reverence, curiosity and intuition.

The Neck
An in-depth exploration of the neck including:
- Cervical muscles: locations, attachments, actions
- Cervical vertebrae structure, location, palpation landmarks
- Vertebral and disc articulations
- Range of motion assessment and evaluation
- Evaluation and treatment of common neck signs and symptoms
Conditions that will be addressed:
- Whiplash
- Cervical disc bulge and herniation
- General pain and tension of the neck
- Limited range of neck motion
A detailed understanding of cervical anatomy, range of motion, pain referral patterns, muscle attachments and actions lead to better treatment outcomes. The workshop will emphasize hands-on assessment and treatment skills based on a solid understanding of the underlying anatomy. Learn essential skills in an atmosphere of curiosity, exploration and creativity.

The Back
An in-depth exploration of the back including:
- Paravertebral muscles: locations, attachments, actions
- Thoracic, lumbar, and sacral vertebrae structure, location, palpation
- Vertebral and disc articulations
- Range of motion assessment
- Evaluation and treatment of common back signs and symptoms
Conditions that will be addressed:
- Low back pain
- Lumbar disc bulge and herniation
- Pain and tension of the back associated with posture
- Scoliosis, kyphosis, lordosis
- Pain between the “shoulder blades”

The Upper Extremity
An in-depth exploration of the upper extremity including:
- Muscles of the shoulder, elbow and wrist: locations, attachments, actions
- Bone structures, locations, palpation landmarks
- Joint articulations of the upper extremity
- Range of motion assessment
- Evaluation and treatment of common signs and symptoms associated with the shoulder, elbow and wrist
Conditions that will be addressed:
- Rotatory cuff injuries
- Bursitis of the shoulder
- Tendinitis of the shoulder, elbow and wrist
- Tennis elbow, golfer’s elbow
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
- Arthritis of the wrist and hand

The Lower Extremity
An in-depth exploration of the lower extremity including:
- Muscles of the hip, knee, and ankle: locations, attachments, actions
- Bone structures, locations, palpation landmarks
- Joint articulations of the lower extremity
- Range of motion assessment
- Evaluation and treatment of common signs and symptoms associated with the hip, knee, and ankle
Conditions that will be addressed:
- Sciatica
- Injuries of knee ligaments
- Tendinitis, sprain and strain of hip, knee and ankle
- Relationship of low back pain to the hip, knee and ankle
- Plantar fasciitis

The Abdomen
